Our Purpose

The purpose of the organization is to foster and grow a strong and lasting community of African, African American students and their allies at Kenan-Flagler Business School by focusing on social action, academic excellence and professional development. 

Second, our responsibility is to the current students of Kenan-Flagler Business School. We will make the transition into and out of business school as smooth as our capacity will allow. We will provide programming that assists in the knowledge acquisition and cultural adaptation that comes with matriculating in the business school environment. 

Third, our responsibility is to the potential students, their interest in Kenan-Flagler and business school at large. We will encourage potential students to come to the university. We will encourage students to pursue higher education in all its forms, not just business school. We will work with the administration, when feasible, to promote diversity initiatives whenever possible. 

Fourth, our responsibility is to the alumni of Kenan-Flagler. We will strive to connect alumni with current students for networking, personal and professional opportunities. The organization will foster strong bonds at Kenan-Flagler that last well beyond graduation. 

Lastly, our responsibility is to the overall community at Kenan-Flagler Business School. The organization will actively seek opportunities to engage with other students, organizations, faculty, staff, alumni inside and outside the business school.
